This unit was established in 2003 for this unit is looking forward to the usage of technology globally. Before, this unit was under the Staff Training and Development Unit but then, it was made into an independent unit with function and objectives of its own.

·As coordinator and facilitator for workshops, computer courses and as such organized by this unit.

·the expertise and experience towards improving the performance of teaching through technology.

·educating teachers the knowledge and the competency about the technological strategies and approaches in teaching and learning.

· To raise consciousness about the importance of ICT in education and especially in teaching.

ICT and the Interactive Whiteboard

Teachers will demonstrate the capabilities of the Interactive Whiteboard. Items such as sound, images, animations and video can be included in lessons which enhance both teaching and learning, providing an engaging and stimulating method to deliver teaching materials.

Guru akan menunjukkan cara menggunakan Interactive Whiteboard. Peralatan tambahan seperti rakaman bunyi-bunyian, gambar, animasi, video dapat di gunakan dalam pengajaran untuk menghasilkan pengajaran yang lebih menarik dan berkesan.

COMPUTER AIDED DESIGN and manufacture

Teachers will demonstrate the use of a CNC machine to produce a model F1 car. This process shows how powerful software and hardware is used to produce a quality product. 2D CAD/CAM designing will be demonstrated and a teacher will also show how this can be converted into a 3D model.

Guru akan menunjukkan cara menggunakan mesin CNC untuk menghasilkan model kereta F1. Proses ini dapat menghasilkan sesuatu yang berkualiti. Guru juga akan menunjukkan bagaimana suatu bentuk 2 dimensi boleh ditukar menjadi bentuk 3 dimensi.

PRIMARY DESIGN AND TECHNOLOGY

Teachers will explain and demonstrate all the different stages of introducing Design and Technology to the Primary School. Examples of the designing and making activities will also reflect the links with Science and Maths teaching.

Guru akan menerangkan dan menunjukkan cara-cara mengenalkan Design dan Teknologi di Sekolah Rendah. Dalam kemahiran ini, ia lebih menggambarkan kaitan yang rapat diantara pengajaran Sains dan Matematik.
