THE 3RD INTER-VOCATIONAL AND TECHNICAL INSTITUTION (VTI) PUBLIC SPEAKING SKILLS PRESENTATION

 

31st July 2008, Gadong – The 3rd Inter-Vocational and Technical Institution (VTI) Public Speaking Skills presentation was held today at the Technical Education Department here. Present as the guest of honour was Yang Mulia Dayang Hajah Norjum binti Haji Yusop, Deputy Permanent Secretary (Corporate Services) at the Ministry of Education.

Six VTI schools took part in the presentation - Sultan Saiful Rijal Technical College, Jefri Bolkiah Engineering College, Business School, Wasan Vocational School, Sultan Bolkiah Vocational School and Mechanics Training School.

During the competition, the students presented various topics of current interests aimed at creating awareness on the capability of VTI students in public speaking.

BSP & BSM CAREER EXHIBITION

 

31st July 2008, Gadong – Today,Yang Mulia Awang Haji Suhaila bin Haji Abdul Karim, Acting Permanent Secretary (Higher Education) at the Ministry of Education was officially opened Brunei Shell Petroleum Company Sdn Bhd (BSP) and Brunei Shell Marketing Company Sdn Bhd (BSM) career exhibition at the Centrepoint Hotel, here.

With the theme of ‘Nurturing Inspired Professionals’, the exhibition aims to provide students or fresh graduates with comprehensive information and guidance on the availability of various career opportunities at the oil and gas industry.

 

BSP also offers scholarships to Bruneians meeting certain criteria, in a bid to haul qualified locals to work for the company and to contribute to the development of oil and gas industry in Brunei. At the moment, a total of 92 students are studying in the United Kingdom, Australia and United States of America, all under BSP scholarships. With the presentation of scholarships to 31 students this year, in engineering and geosciences, there are now a total of 123 students studying overseas under the scholarship programme of BSP.
